A LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & PRESIDENT

Highest Regards,
Welcome to Meaningful Minds United, Inc.
Founded in 2005 following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Meaningful Minds United, Inc. became Louisiana’s first peer-driven Recovery Community Center and Recovery Community Organization. Established by a group of peers in Baton Rouge, our mission began with a simple but urgent goal: to expand support and resources for individuals facing behavioral health challenges.

Since relaunching under new leadership in 2020, our organization has experienced significant growth, expanding our impact locally, nationally, and internationally. Today, we proudly serve communities across the United States and abroad, including Germany, Canada, Venezuela, Sweden, Denmark, France, and the United Kingdom.

At Meaningful Minds United, Inc., we are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We believe every individual deserves access to compassionate, respectful, and dignified support regardless of race, background, or circumstance. As a recognized Peer Support organization through the Louisiana Office of Behavioral Health, we utilize evidence-based, nonclinical peer support services led by individuals with lived experience in mental health and substance use recovery.

Our vision is to establish chapters throughout Louisiana and beyond while continuing to invest in future generations—particularly youth and young adults impacted by the lasting effects of the post-pandemic era. We remain dedicated to strengthening communities, restoring hope, and creating meaningful pathways to recovery for all.
Jennifer Randal-Thorpe | Executive director & President
